Even stones and pebbles turn into rice when powered by human strength.\u201d<\/strong><\/div>\n

In the countryside of Pho Trach \u2013 Hue, each flood season is a test of resilience.
The rice fields \u2013 cultivated with months of hard work \u2013 can be submerged in a sea of water overnight.
People can\u2019t work the fields, nor visit the market. Moving around by small boats, rafts, or even bare feet wading through floodwater becomes a daily routine in Hue’s flood season.<\/p>\n

Yet amidst these hardships, there\u2019s a shining image of the village women \u2013 hair now silvered, but hands still swiftly weaving each strand of Co Bang<\/em> (Lepironia grass), as if life continues with quiet strength and dignity.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
This morning, I received a message from Nguyet, a young woman in the village:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

“The rice has all been waterlogged, even the water reached our front yard…
Thankfully the Co Bang grows a bit taller, so it might not be affected too much unless the field stays flooded for too long (still depends on the weather).
But if it gets worse… then we\u2019ll just replant the grass.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

<\/div>\n
\n

That last sentence stopped me in my tracks \u2013 \u201cWe\u2019ll just replant the grass\u201d<\/em> \u2013 so simple, so light, as if hardship had never been something to fear.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That spirit of \u201cIf… then\u2026\u201d<\/em> \u2013 seemingly casual \u2013 is in fact the greatest lesson we\u2019ve learned from them: They never give up.
Always with a plan. Always with hope. Always with action.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In that humble home, even when the water rises to the doorstep, C\u1ecf B\u00e0ng<\/em> \u2013 the precious raw material \u2013 is carefully kept in the highest attic.
Clothes may be soaked, people may be drenched, but the grass must stay dry \u2013 because it is their livelihood, their food, their future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Since we came to understand that story, we\u2019ve never once allowed ourselves to let go of the oars…<\/p>\n

In a world full of choices, the most vulnerable villagers are often the ones without a Plan B<\/strong>.
To them, Maries may be the only opportunity<\/strong>. That\u2019s why in our workplace, there\u2019s no room for laziness \u2013 and even less for giving up.<\/p>\n

Because to preserve \u2013 and pass on \u2013 something of real value, one-time effort is never enough<\/strong>. It\u2019s a long journey \u2013 sometimes broken, sometimes painful, sometimes chest-deep in rising water \u2013 but still, hands never stop moving.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Life keeps throwing the unexpected at us. And we always have a choice: To complain? Or to rise and keep going?<\/p>\n

To the women \u2013 the aunties, the mothers, the sisters \u2013
Thank you for teaching us the meaning of strength, belief, and perseverance.<\/p>\n

Those hands \u2013 still weaving each strand of grass \u2013 are weaving a dream.<\/p>\n
