Commemoration Ceremony at the Hồ Chí Minh Relic Site
On the morning of November 14, 2025, within the framework of the Festival for Conservation and Development of International Craft Villages 2025, the Delegation of Outstanding Artisans and Master Craftspeople from across Vietnam attended a Commemoration Ceremony in tribute to President Hồ Chí Minh at the Presidential Palace. This sacred ritual is reserved for collectives who have made meaningful contributions to the preservation and development of national cultural values.

In the solemn atmosphere of this historic site, each step felt quieter, each breath more mindful. Every member of the delegation carried with them a profound sense of pride—pride in their craft, pride in Huế, and pride in the heritage passed down through countless generations.
The ceremony unfolded in contemplative silence yet was filled with deep emotion. The artisans respectfully offered incense and reported to President Hồ Chí Minh their tireless efforts over the past year. For Maries, this moment marked a journey of immense pride—preserving the 500-year-old Lepironia weaving tradition and bringing this humble Central Vietnamese material into modern life, allowing each piece to become not only an object of use but also a breath of culture, a Vietnamese story told in a new way.

Maries was awarded the Honorary Badge not only for its product innovation but also for the quiet yet powerful impact behind the scenes: creating livelihoods for rural Huế women, training younger generations, connecting traditional culture with international customers, and—most importantly—upholding President Hồ Chí Minh’s teaching of “Good people – Good deeds” in every action, every product, and every story shared.
From Huế royal motifs, lotus flowers, mosaic patterns, and the Vietnamese áo dài, to the “54 Ethnic Groups of Vietnam” collection—each design represents a cultural fragment retold by Maries with meticulous care, respect, and a mindful connection to its roots.

For Maries, the Uncle Ho Honorary Badge is not just recognition—it is a reminder of a greater responsibility. That responsibility is to safeguard the Lepironia weaving craft, to create more positive values for the community, and to elevate the image of Huế—not only as a land of heritage but as a place where heritage continues to live, flourish, and connect with the world. Every product crafted by Maries is shaped by the kindness of Hue’s artisans and the pride of a young collective devoted to preserving and evolving the craft.

The road ahead will surely be long, but the Commemoration Ceremony at the Presidential Palace will forever remain a sacred milestone—reminding Maries that when work is done with sincerity and heart, Vietnamese heritage will always find its path to shine and claim its rightful place in the hearts of friends around the world.
Maries will continue on that path—with the heart of Huế and the determination of a new generation of artisans.
